Judy Li is a Taiwanese-American writer and designer living in Southern California. She has a bachelor's degree in graphic design and a master's degree in visual communication.
Her first children's book, "Baby Snack Time," was inspired by the lack of English-Chinese bilingual books in the market, especially for families with mixed-heritage children. Judy wanted to create a fun and colorful learning book that focuses on food, an important aspect of Asian culture. Through her visual storytelling skills, she introduces Chinese vocabulary while celebrating familiar Asian snacks she enjoyed as a child.
Judy leads a diverse life, pursuing her passions for food, cooking, gardening, and travel. Professionally, she works as a graphic designer at a university and also holds the roles of creative director and CEO of an online boutique. Additionally, she has a food and cooking channel on YouTube. Now, she adds children's book authors to her list of accomplishments. In her personal life, she is a loving wife, a new mom to a baby girl, and an aunt to six adorable nieces and nephews.
Launching Baby Snack Time
Judy's inspiration for "Baby Snack Time" sprouted during the pandemic when she discovered a need for bilingual children's books that reflect Asian culture. Her own experiences babysitting her niece sparked the idea of using snacks as a tool to teach Mandarin vocabulary. Determined to fill this gap in the market, Judy founded Sincerely Sweet Press in 2020, creating a platform for her creative vision to flourish.
Sincerely Sweet Press offers a delightful collection of bilingual children's books that celebrate Asian culture. These engaging and educational stories are complemented by toys that align with the book's themes, creating a holistic and immersive learning experience for young readers.
One of Judy's notable milestones is having her book displayed in renowned cultural museums such as the Wingluke Museum and the Japanese American National Museum in LA and Oregon. This achievement not only showcases the quality and cultural significance of her work but also reinforces the importance of diverse representation in children's literature.
As a new mom, Judy faces the unique challenge of balancing the demands of running a business with the responsibilities of raising her child. With a two-month-old baby, she maximizes her productivity during her little one's nap times. Supported by her husband and in-laws, Judy remains optimistic about her ability to grow her business while cherishing the joys of motherhood.

Judy’s goal for the next 3-6 months
Judy is expanding her creative endeavors by venturing into new language translations for her books. She has plans to translate her works into Cantonese, Korean, and Vietnamese, further broadening their reach and impact. Additionally, Judy will be introducing an adorable dim sum tea wooden playset, complementing her collection of engaging and culturally inspired toys.
